Where can I get naloxone?

In the case of an emergency, every School District of Philadelphia nurse's office has naloxone.

SUPHR Naloxone by Mail

What: The Philadelphia Department of Public Health Division of Substance Use Prevention & Harm Reduction (SUPHR) program offers naloxone by mail to Philadelphia residents.

What: Receive free naloxone by mail after watching a training video, completing a short quiz, and filling out enrollment at the link above. If you are not from Philadelphia, click here for NEXT Distro's nationwide program.

What: Every fire station in Philadelphia has naloxone boxes on the outside, which are free to the public and can be taken anonymously.

What: Distribution of Narcan (intranasal naloxone), intramuscular naloxone, and testing strips.

Who can you talk to about substance use?
School counselors

Counselors can help you navigate any reactions or feelings about substance use. They can also connect you to helpful resources.

Description: Call the hotline to reach a trained team that will help connect you to treatment, programs, or resources around drug use.

Description: The Adolescent Specialized Treatment and Recovery Team (A-START) at Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) provides holistic medical care for adolescents with substance use disorders, on an outpatient basis.
Services: Evaluation of substance use in teens and young adults through age 24, management of substance use disorders withdrawal symptoms, in-office urine drug testing, and more.

Description: Philly HEALs is a bereavement program that offers free support services for substance use-related grief. Philly HEALs is a program under the Philadelphia Department of Public Health Division of Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction.

Services: Individual grief counseling, peer support groups, child and youth counseling services, workshops, resources for adults, and resources for youth. No insurance or payment is required.
